Time flies...

Long time no post. I've definitely been slacking! I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. I've been counting down the days to my week long vacation coming up on Fourth of July week. I can't believe it's almost July! Where does the time go? Anyway, I've been hitting the thrifts and rummages with a vengeance lately, and I do have a large stash of items that I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of. I will post something a bit more substantial hopefully this weekend, but in the meantime here are a few random pictures... including some of my garden! Happy thrifting!

I found this vintage kitchen cart at an estate sale on half price day: $1.50! It was covered in ugly plastic liner, which thankfully peeled off just fine. It turned out to be the most lovely shade of red! My dad had to do some work on the uppermost tier - it was bent and sunken in the middle, probably why it was so cheap. I plan on repainting it when I decide on a color - I'm thinking that I'll keep it red though. I've always wanted one of these carts. It will be nice to be able to do different displays during the holidays!

Just a random picture of my kitchen counter. You can see my collection of old cook books in the corner (and a random Grumpy Cat).

My kitchen corner cabinet. It's full of kitschy figurines and old pottery. The McCoy smiley face planter makes me happy - .50 at a rummage!

A couple of cute tea towels I found - brand new in the original packaging! I washed them, since they were a little yellowed with age. I scared my mom the other day because she started drying dishes with some of my vintage dish towels - OMG MOM DON'T USE THE VINTAGE TOWELS!!!! - Poor thing jumped out of her skin. I'm not the only one who displays old towels that are off limits, am I?

Next to my Keurig there's a definite rooster theme happening. And a fox.. yikes, not a good combo!

Random donkeys. Sorry the picture is so dark. I have the worst lighting in my house!

I found this adorable embroidered runner at an estate sale for $3.00. I just love the cactus behind the singer.

The bunnies have been munching on my perennials, so the upper corner of the garden bed is a little empty right now They devoured my Reubekia and Yarrow! It's hard to hate them because they are so darn cute, but it's really frustrating knowing that at any given moment they could be ruining my plants!

The whiskey barrels were from my dad. I have to figure out what kinds of plants to put in them, and most importantly, where to put them. My Nasturtium are doing so well. They are one of my favorite things to plant!

 This coneflower is called 'Cleopatra'.

Lilies and Coreopsis.

My favorite perennials are Heuchera (Coral Bells). I collect all of the different varieties!

My daylily is getting ready to bloom!

My frog statue is getting buried!

A relaxing holiday, and lots of nice booty!

I'm back! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. It was pretty rainy up north, and the mosquitoes were out in full force, but we had great weather for Memorial Day. I bought lots of vintage stuff from various thrifts, rummages, antique stores, and a flea market. The car trunk was stuffed to the max! It'll probably take a few posts to get through it all, so bear with me.

I managed to score loads of embroidered items. This one was only .50 cents because of some staining. I hope to soak everything this weekend to make them look cleaner. But look, cute peacocks!

Orange flower table runner.

Pretty in pink. Perfect for Spring!

This one is hard to make out. I don't know why they embroidered the birds in white against white..?

Pretty vintage dish towels.

 More vintage dish towels.

Yellow flowers.

Perfect for a round table.

Adorable deers! $2.00 at a thrift.

Precious kitties. This runner was $3.00.

Nice vintage tablecloth. The colors work so well together.

Bluebirds. :)

Cute table runner.

An oval shaped Christmas tablecloth. I love the pine needles!

Interesting old tin - fleur-de-lis on the side and roses on top.

Strawberry season is coming soon..

The Black Americana salt and pepper shakers were .50 cents a piece. I thought they were cute - Salty and Peppy! I bought them at an antique store - they were really cheap because the owner had accidentally knocked both of their heads off! She did a good job of gluing them back together though. Oh, and I love this yellow tray!

Another tin that I didn't need. I have a tin addiction. Anyone else out there with the same problem??

Miscellaneous stuff. I found several deer figurines this weekend! I especially like the tiny Indian boy. Now I just need some cowboys!

Lamb planter, plastic lady bug, and a sweet donkey!

Plastic cookie canister - I wish the silver around the 'C' was in better shape though.

I love this green teapot. I picked it up at Goodwill for $3.99. The lid was taped on, and when I got home and removed it I found a chip on the inside. It's still completely usable though. I really need to check items out better - I just get so excited to find stuff I like though!

The stamp on the bottom of the teapot.

I finished the set! I picked up the Chipettes at GW for .99, and Simon at an antique mall for $3.00.

Carnival glass bowl - my current fruit bowl!

A nifty little apple shaped tin.

Enamelware pot.

The cutest fishy pins!

Sugar bowl and creamer.

Amazing Pink Gooseberry Pyrex that my mom and dad found for $2.00! I also love this yellow tilted ball pitcher - $8.00 at a collectibles sale.

Westmoreland plates - I'm missing a few. They are so pretty!

Plastic yellow bird whistle.

Nice vintage rolling pin and ice cream scooper.

A lone Hazel Atlas green shaker.

I also collect stuff from the eighties! A bright orange Popple (Dunker - and in wonderful condition), a Rainbow Brite sprite, and a new coffee mug - TMNT!

One of my cats, Percy, wanted to be in the picture. I call him "Chubb". Yeah, he's a little hefty!
