Massive Post (Part 2)

Here's part 2. I'm all thrown off today because of Daylight Savings. I hate to lose that hour. It just feels strange. On top of that a winter storm is approaching, just when it seemed like Spring was almost here. We're supposed to get between 5-8 inches. Yuck! Not looking forward to tomorrow's work commute. I guess that's life in Wisconsin though. As Forrest Gump would say, "You never know what you're gonna get!"

White Lefton elf salt and pepper shakers. Their green pupil-less eyes are a little creepy. They were .50 a piece at Goodwill.

A lone mouse with a beer salt/pepper shaker. I found this lovely turquoise striped Hazel Atlas mug at Goodwill for .50 cents. It was absolutely filthy, but it sure cleaned up really nice! I also have a yellow one.

Two small Napco Santa mugs. I found them in the candle section at Goodwill for only .50 each - of course someone had decided to turn them into candles as well. It was a pain trying to pry all the cheap wax out. As gentle as I was trying to be, I ended up breaking the back part off of one of them, but the piece glued in perfectly, so you can't really tell. :-)

A really cute yellow metal napkin holder I got at the antique mall where my booth is located. It was only $3.00.

I had been admiring this pretty yellow Bartlett Collins Gay Fad cookie jar at a local thrift for a few months. They had it in the "vintage only" display case for $20.00. Too rich for my blood. I decided to stop in on Friday to see if it was on sale yet, and to my dismay it was not in the case anymore. I figured someone had finally bought it. I walked around the store a few times and didn't really see anything I really wanted. Something told me to do one last check. I found it tucked in a pile of clearance items at the back of the store - and it was marked down to $10.00! Sold! The next day I found the matching sugar bowl at a Goodwill for .99 cents. I searched the store for the creamer, but didn't see it. Maybe it will turn up one of these days. 

I got this pie-eyed bee at a great estate sale. Everything was dirt cheap, so I think it was only like $2.00. It doesn't have any markings, but it sure is cute.

It doubles as a little container as well. Sweet!

I don't think this is very old, but I thought it was pretty. It's a metal magnifying glass with enameled flowers, as well as rhinestones. For .99 cents I figured it was worth it. 

 

I'm ready for my close up, Mr. Demille! I see a cat hair! Ugh, it's so hard to keep them off the vintage tablecloths.

I found this Libbey drink caddy for $1.99 at USA Family Thrift, and have been slowly filling it with the appropriate glassware set. I am not a big fan of the Libbey Gold Leaf pattern, so I'll probably try to sell it once it's complete. 

I found this neat vintage Christmas Glamour kit at Goodwill for only .50 cents. It's never even been opened! I thought the graphics were cute. Now we know how all those old stockings wound up with such sparkly bling.

Another drink caddy I found. I've been pretty lucky to find them. This one has a bit of tarnish/rust.

My March kitchen cart set up. 

I got this umbrella at that $5.00 fill a bag sale. I asked the lady running it if this counted, since it was too tall for the bag, and she said, "YUP!" It's really pretty, especially the handle. Some of the inner wire things need to be resewn, but otherwise it's in great shape.

It's got a pointy end to poke people with too.

My first bakelite bangle, and in my favorite color too. I lost the ebay bid on this exact bangle the same day I found this one at St. Vinnie's. I paid up a bit for it - it was $20.00, but I had a 20% off. The one on ebay sold for $20.00, not including shipping costs, so I came out ahead. I love it!

My precioussss...

This poor little snuffleupagus was in the .50 cent stuffed animal bin at Goodwill, looking up at me with his big googly eyeballs. I had to take him home. He's from 1994 Applause, and in really good condition.

This came from the $5.00 fill a bag sale. It's a Gerber packet that new mothers received while in the hospital to give birth. It's dated 1961. 

The little charm on the card is darling. And the little bunny, chick, baby rattle, and bottle graphics!

Some of the Christmas items I bought at the crazy expensive estate sale. $1.00 each. The salt/pepper shaker was $2.00.

This was at the same sale, for $5.00. It was expensive, but really cute. It's a Mother's Day card from Hallmark dated 1949. It's a little flip book featuring cats.

Same sale for only $2.00. It's a handmade wall decoration. It collapses too, which makes storing easy. It will be cute hanging on my kitchen wall this year.

I don't know why I bought this. The eighties kid in me couldn't say no! It's a California Raisins kitchen towel with the original tags, 1987. I heard it through the grapevine... .99 cents at Goodwill.

A pair of sweet little pot holders I won off of ebay. Only $4.00, including shipping! 

I found a paisley printed sewing basket at Goodwill. It was only $1.99, made in Japan, and sold at Gimbels department store.

It even has a nifty plastic divider tray. 

This little Carebears Share Bear juice glass was at Goodwill for .50 cents. I have all of the Pizza Hut exclusive large glasses, so I was surprised to find this itty bitty one. Love those bears..

A Hazel Atlas brown dot nesting bowl. It was at Goodwill for .99 cents, and of course they didn't have the other four in the set - the beautiful non-poopy brown colors. I'm always finding brown. I think the other dot bowls are red, orange, yellow, and blue. Who knows, maybe the brown one is the rarest bowl.

A Hazel Atlas circus themed mug I picked up at an antique mall for $3.00. I love circus stuff.

I ordered this kitchen towel off of ebay. It's an Irish Coffee recipe, and the graphic are adorable!

Finally, I found this vintage paper tablecloth featuring St. Patrick's Day graphics to add to my growing paper tablecloth collection. I have a lot of them! One day I'll do a post dedicated to them.:-)

And that's it for now. I plan on starting to do posts whenever I get a good thrift haul. It's hard to run around my house trying to find items I didn't take pictures of yet. Some of the items I thrift I take to sell at my booth, so I don't take pictures of them in time. We'll see how it goes. I'll try really hard not to be lazy about it
